What happens if my internet goes down?
Everything keeps working. The AI runs on local hardware, recordings stay on your local storage, and sensors continue to report to the Brain Box. Internet is only used to send you push notifications — and even those can route over cellular backup.
Can I see my cameras when I'm away from home?
Yes. We set up an end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) remote access tunnel to your Brain Box, so you can view live feeds and receive alerts on your phone from anywhere. Even our relay servers cannot read your data — it's encrypted device-to-device.
Do I need a monthly subscription?
No subscription required. AI detection, alerts, and camera recording all run locally with zero monthly fees. Professional monitoring (a real person who reviews high-confidence alerts and can contact emergency services on your behalf) is launching in 2026 as an optional add-on.
What cameras and sensors are compatible?
Most IP cameras (ONVIF protocol), Zigbee sensors, Z-Wave sensors, and WiFi devices. If you already have equipment, we'll assess it during a free pre-install consultation. Chances are it'll work.
How does the AI know the difference between a threat and my dog?
The system runs Frigate for real-time person/vehicle/animal detection, combined with two dedicated local AI models — one for security analysis that reasons about threats (time of day, patterns, armed status) and one for home automation. False alerts decrease over time as the AI learns from homeowner feedback.
What's the warranty and support like?
Professional and Elite packages include 2 years of support. We're a Toronto-based team — you'll talk to the person who installed your system, not a call centre. Hardware is under manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our installation work.
